Collateral Management Amid Changing Regulations

With the new regulations like the ongoing roll-out of Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR), many firms are evaluating if they are ready for regulatory deadlines, and whether they are able to proactively manage collateral exposures and challenge calls on a factual basis. Many are facing obstacles like the inability to independently value positions and calculate and challenge margin calls. A fragmented collateral management infrastructure with heavy reliance on manual processes leads to a lack of scalability to effectively monitor and manage counterparty and credit risk exposures. There is clearly a need for a platform that can adapt as technology, market demands and regulations change over time.
